On May 11, a strong contingent of ETFO delegates to the 2017 Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) convention joined a noon-hour march to King and Bay streets in Toronto, the heart of the financial district. The rally focused on the need for decent jobs and fair wages.
The CLC, which represents 3.3 million workers, holds its national convention every three years. The convention is attended by labour unions from across the country. Convention delegates debate and pass policy motions and elect the CLC’s executive officers. ETFO had its largest delegation to date, with 131 provincial and local ETFO leaders participating as registered delegates.
