May is Canadian Jewish Heritage Month, as established by the federal government in 2018. This year's poster, with artwork by Toronto artist Rosette Sund, is entitled “Tikkun Olam,” and celebrates Jewish diversity through symbols and images. The Jewish practice of tikkun olam unifies all cultures. It is the idea that through our actions and good deeds, we can make the world a better place for everyone. The discussion guide includes classroom connections for Kindergarten to Intermediate levels and includes learning about prominent Jewish Canadians.
